Highly recommended car rental business. Their staff are responsive and friendly. Do give them a try in Penang. They are located at the airport as well, you can rent directly from there and return the car there as well. The Vios that I rented was excellent and new.

I chose Big Thumb after doing some research, even though they had some negative reviews. Their prices were lower than some higher-rated companies, so I was willing to take a chance.

For my four-day trip, I rented a Honda City (face lift) without taking up any additional insurance. During pickup, I thoroughly checked the car (even taking photos for reference) and the staff member was very patient with my inspection.

Upon returning the car, the staff quickly inspected it and informed me later that I would receive the refund that same day. However, it actually came through the following day, which was acceptable.

Overall, the car was in excellent condition, and I would recommend Big Thumb for anyone planning a road trip from Penang.

Very good service. Rent Nissan Almera for 3 days, but replaced with Toyota Vios due to the Nissan is not available.
The car is flawless and is very new.
Get the car delivered to Sungai Nibong bus terminal and returned at the airport.
Accidentally left a pair of new spectacle and they arranged to deliver the spectacle to Komtar bus terminal we were passing Penang 4 days later.
Very recommended.

On the 2nd of November 2022 I rented a car from Big Thumb for one day.
Unfortunately I had an accident and didn’t have an insurance contract. I was still okay to walk and got away with a big headache. After this the employees of big thumb took me to the garage where their car was repaired and told me the people who work there made an estimate of cost for the reparation of the car. The price was extremely high, so I told them I only wanted to pay when I know about the actual cost. They scared me with more fees and calling the police on me. After arguing for a long time I, still with a huge headache and shocked from the accident, agreed to pay the estimated cost so they would bring me back and I can see a doctor. The woman who took the money from me assured me that I will get the receipt as soon as I pay. After I was home I asked again then she told me I have to wait for two weeks. For the deposit I paid I had to wait even longer than that even though it had nothing to do with the accident. Still they were holding back my money.
As I’m writing this right now (5th of January 2023) I STILL haven’t gotten any receipt.
Now I have contacted my lawyer to get in touch with big thumb.
I will not trust a company anymore, who handles finances of their customers like this. Holding back a receipt from something that is being paid for is scam and unexceptional.
I would highly not recommend renting with big thumb and better look for a company which is caring for their customers health and trust.
I hope to see the receipt one day.

Rented car with BigThumb during my 3 days in Penang. The car was in a good condition and the price was reasonable as well! Staff like Ivory was really helpful with all the procedures during returning the car and she was really friendly as well ! It’s a huge boost for BigThumb with staff like this! Would recommend this car rental service to my friends in future !

Poor experience The boss gave me a Langkawi car and can only drive in Penang for three months. I want to continue the rental car and ask the boss to change the car and give me the result. The boss delays my time. Super bad service
