I recently collected the keys to my first home at Alinea Suites, Shah Alam Seksyen 14, on 8th November 2024.

While I appreciate the effort that went into delivering the unit, I am extremely disappointed with the workmanship and the condition of the property. Unfortunately, the house came with numerous defects, including broken tiles, cement debris and dust in the curtain rails, uneven walls, unfilled grout in the bathroom, scratched and dented doors, wardrobes, drawers, and many more issues.

The overall workmanship was incredibly poor, with no signs of proper quality checks before handover. For example:
• Sand and cement debris were left in the curtain rails.
• The kitchen cabinet doors and drawers were dented.
• The main door was full of scratches, and the paintwork was sloppy.
• Over 50% of the floor tiles were scratched or broken, and some even had cigarette stains, indicating careless work on-site.
• Grout lines in the bathroom were unfilled, and the walls were uneven, resembling a “moon surface.”
• The area behind the TV cabinet was particularly unacceptable.

It was clear the work was rushed, leaving owners to handle defects after handover.

Submitting defect reports via the app required weeks to address—typically 3-4 weeks per request. The unit remained untouched for about a month as I waited for major repairs, preventing further renovations or moving in. This delay was frustrating and unacceptable.

While some repairs were eventually completed, the solutions were far from satisfactory. For instance, floor tiles were “fixed” using sandpaper to remove stains, leaving them dull and unattractive instead of polished. I had to hire someone to polish the tiles, which should not have been my responsibility.

During repairs, my bed frame was left uncovered, and the mattress was placed on the corridor floor without protection. Paint and dust accumulated on the bed frame, but thankfully, my mattress protector prevented further damage. This lack of care was deeply disappointing.

To the developer: I urge you to take responsibility for your projects. Conduct thorough quality checks before handing over units and hire skilled workers to ensure proper workmanship. Leaving houses in such a poor state with a high defect rate and forcing owners to bear the cost and time of extensive post-handover repairs is unacceptable.

This experience has been extremely disappointing and frustrating, especially for my first home. I hope future buyers do not face similar issues.

UPDATE (5/12/24):
I am extremely disappointed and angry about what happened today. The main contractor entered my unit without my consent and resumed work, a month after addressing the major damage in my home. They returned because their previous carelessness had caused additional defects.

What shocked me the most was the complete lack of communication. My home has been fully furnished and beautifully decorated over the last four weeks since the first rectification. I invested heavily in grouting, floor polishing, daily cleaning to remove dust, and new decor that cost me over 10K.

Despite my earlier request to cancel the tile hacking two weeks ago, the main contractor proceeded to hack the tiles today without notifying me or giving me any chance to take precautions. The lack of coordination between the person in charge and the contractor is unacceptable.

The result? My house is now covered in dust—on the curtains, my bed, my clothes, my expensive floor lamp, my kettle, utensils, and furniture. The fan was even left running, spreading the dust everywhere. I wasn’t given the opportunity to move or protect my belongings. This is beyond disrespectful.

I spent weeks cleaning and decorating my home, only for it to be ruined by such inconsiderate actions. Do you really expect me to live and sleep in a house filled with dust? Now I have to clean everything again, wash my belongings, and restore my space—all because of your negligence.

To PIR of Alinea or EH Property: Please improve your communication with homeowners and contractors.

Ambience No 1, love it. Hs the modern n traditional twist to this kopi tiam. Love the choices of pastry especially big croisants. Come early for breakfast otherwise, no more hot food..(if u fancy nasi lemak n heavystuff la)..choices of roti bakar pun menarik gaisss.. Kopi jgn crita.. Kena pegi baru tau.. Tempat lepak baru i ni.. Ohhh..i kove the love seat sofa..my fave green pulak tu!!

这发展真的是烂透了 !!!
千万不能买这发展商的屋子 !!!
买了他们起的屋子你会后悔一辈子 !!!

我跟这间发展商买的屋子住进去还不到三年就出现了非常严重的问题。
1) 多处墙壁出现严重的裂缝 ( 是很严重的裂缝,不是一点点哦 )
2) 墙壁漏水 ( 发展商一直在敷衍拖时间直到两年过后还是没有解决问题,然后跟我说过了waranty 期限 )
3) 屋顶天花板脱落 ( 已经不是第一次了,waranty 期间派人来修好了之后又再脱落 )
4) 多处地砖无缘无故翘起来。( 找专业人士检查了,说这问题是修补不了的,只能把整间屋子的地砖从新换新的 )

PS : 不止我这间哦,是很多间都是有同样的问题
