The view is breathtaking from the campsite if you choose campsites on lot A. Sunset view is amazing and it’s really chilly at night.

Upon arrival, you can park your car at a designated parking lot and the owner will arrange for a pick up from the parking lot to the campsite which is about a 10 minutes ride up using a 4WD. The owner also gave us some free vegetables (probably from their own farm).

Campsite was spacious and it could fit a large tent and two flysheets. We chose lots from site A because each lot was 3m x 10m.

Toilets were within walking distance and there was a water heater provided in one of the toilets. The water wasn’t exactly hot but it makes it easier for us to shower in the cold.

This place is pet friendly and my furkid enjoyed the cold weather here.

The only issue we had that was annoying was the sound coming from the road up to Genting. A lot of annoying drivers rev their “sports car” uphill so it was really loud and noisy the entire night (almost the entire duration of the stay) and there was no way to avoid it.

Other than that, all was good and it was a really nice campsite 👍🏻

Pros:
1. Responsive staffs
2. Water heater and dryer available
3. No extra charges to get to camp site with their 4WD
4. Great view + chilly temp

Cons:
1. The 200g of free vege is questionable
2. The highway nearby is extremely noisy at night, you’ll hear everything.
3. Zon C of the campsite is not well maintained - weeds are bussing.
4. 1 working water heater only tho… 1 🫠

If you’re planning a trip here, I’d recommend zone A.

We stay there on weekend, the environment of the campsite is not that great. The owners are lazy to clear those wild grasses. Campsite are very noisy at night till 3am & morning 6am again the noise start from those sports car who race up to genting. One thing great about the campsite is their toilet , water heater & hair dryer provided

It's easy to get here as the directional sign are good. However the hot water shower at the toilets are not hot. And the campsite at B zone with gravel ground is hard to put up the ground stake to put up the overhead fly sheet. If you need to put an overhead fly sheet over your tent, choose the grassland campsite.

TLDR: recommended with some caveats

Pros: punctual, communicative and friendly staff; well-kept, clean plots and toilets; less than an hour away from KL (traffic-permitting); gorgeous views if you manage to snag the topmost area (‘Pinnacle’)

Cons: no water heater in bathrooms; relatively expensive (per pax price per night); and yes the noise from the traffic traversing up and down Genting can get very annoying (heavy sleeper here so didn’t matter much to me)

Nice of Yunkai folks to give us a zone to drive in with our ride in last minute. Place is good for roof top tent. Clean and furnished with clean toilet/ shower places. Some zones have basin and taps to wash your cutlery. Access slope is made of red clay with small rocks for better traction for 4x4 but for campers, they need to be extremely careful while walking if not using the concrete slaps.
Would love to give full 5 stars but deducted due to:
1) as the place is facing the road that leads to Genting Highlands summit, it is extremely noisy at night whereby the constant noise from vehicles going up is endless (24/7). Hence, if you are a light sleeper, you are practically awake throughout the night.
2) there is no signage to inform fellow campers to observe quietness after certain hours (eg 10pm to 7am). Common courtesy to one another so that all campers can enjoy the beautiful scenery and the little nature tranquility that we have. Unfortunately we had a group which contributed to the night sound till 3am to 4am and restarted at 7am. Kudos

Unfortunately we deferred our plan to extend another night (sleepiness) despite the nice Yunkai folks and the night coldness of the place.

Photos are some built up tents by Yunkai. We were on our own tent.

This is the second time I have been here.

The first time’s experience was not great, as they put us on their new area which did not have toilets yet and the slope going down to the toilet area was extremely muddy and almost impossible to walk down. There were also nails dropped all over the floor.

The second time camping there at the gravel/concrete Zone B area was much better. It was close enough to the washrooms and the view was great. At night and in the early mornings of the weekend, you can hear the engine revving noises coming from the highway but its nothing too bad.

The only problem is the difficulty in parking here as they moved their parking area further in which means you will have to go a further distance down high incline/decline slopes that are mostly gravel. Regular cars can make it without issues but you might have some problems driving out if the road conditions are more moist than usual.

I highly suggest anyone going here to pack their stuff in an organised manner as you will need to rely on their pickup trucks to bring everything up. Carrying your gear loosely will
Definitely make things more difficult to transport to their campsite.

Overall the experience the second time was decent. It also appears that the toilets on the new area has been completed.

One thing I wish they can do is reduce the price of their stay per pax. Although I can imagine its costly to have people transport you up and down from the campsite. On the plus side, the ride up and down is pretty fun on the back of the pickup truck!

Was looking around for a quiet campsite at the Genting highland area, and managed to come across this camp site.

A quick whatsapp got us in touch with the person in charge, and he tried to assist us to guide us into the little trail leading up to the camp site.

The entrance is from main road is easy to find if you do not go pass it too fast, and the trail starts immediately from road to rocky and clay mix surface, no issue with our vehicle, but will certainly posed an issue with lowered vehicle without all wheel drive, as it gets loose and rocky and risking tyre sidewall cuts going in.

There is a car park area allocated for low clearance vehicle, and they will arrange a 4X4 pick up or truck to fetch the campers up to the destination, the last part of the trail is proper steep and loose gravel mix and even their 4X4 vehicle also will lose traction while going up or down.

We managed to drive up to our campsite and the steepness proved fun, but for the uninitiated it might be downright scary.

The campsite allocated to us is very clean with only a small burnt patch of ground left behind by previous camper.

The camp caretaker even dropped by and passed us a bag of organic veggies with lotsa holes on the leaves, be sure to give it a good wash, as both batch we managed to wash out bugsies from snails to some weird crawlies.

Being a friday, we were the inly camper there and had the whole place to ourselves, abd the night was cooling and quiet except for the incessant motorbike and supercars racing up to genting highland at full bore, with their exhaust sound reverberating around the valley, it sure make for a sleepless night for those who are light sleeper.

There is no electricity there, execpt at toilet/shower area where the caretaker will come and switch on the light.

Walking down or up to the toilet at night posed a bit of risk as the loose gravel surface is like marbles on road, and with the slope, one can slip and slide down in the low light, advised to being own torchlight which is able to be hung inside the toilet while showering or doing your number 2.

Mossies and sandflies is little, and they do come out when there is no wind and hot.

Bring your own rubbish bag, and hang it high up when sleeping, the resident doggies will sneakily tear your trash apart leaving you to clear up the mess, don't ask me how I know.

I like the temp in the day, 25deg C and night was hovering around 20 to 22deg C.

There is no hot water for the shower, but the cold water is sure refreshing.(I like it!!!) And the toilet door will slam shut at night making alot of noise when its windy.

But on the second day, the campsite was visited by 3 group of camper whom made so much noise till 3am laughing away without due regards to other fellow camper.

1 thing to note, do peg down your tent with longer stakes for your tent or shelter as the area is prone to sudden gust of wind, and one of the tent was rolling away while everyone is distracted with their fun activities, and keep toddlers always in sight, as the drop off from one level of campsite to another lower campsite is pretty high, and such a drop is sure to injure anyone from that fall.
